International Restrictions:

*International travel: Eritrea’s land borders are closed and international and domestic flights are suspended until further notice. There are occasional charter flights organised by Embassies resident in Asmara. Notification of these sometimes comes at short notice.

All incoming passengers are reminded the following:

• Self-isolation or quarantine is now reduced to 7 days, from 14-day, for those coming with a negative PCR test certificate.

• All incoming passengers must have a PCR negative test certificate issued within the last 72-hours.

• All incoming passengers will be tested after the self-isolation period and must be cleared before exiting the place of self-isolation Internal Restrictions:

*Travel in Eritrea: An internal travel ban is in place. Only authorised persons are able to move out of the city, town or village where they are resident. Check-points are in place to enforce this. No public transport (buses and taxis) are operating.

*Accommodation: Most hotels are closed, except for those that are continuing to accommodate people from before the imposition of the travel ban.

*Public places and services: Most shops and business have re-opened following the easing of lockdown. Public gatherings, including places of worship remain banned. Restaurants and bars remain closed.
