    Inbound restrictions:

    The government of El Salvador suspended all commercial flights, and will only receive air cargo and humanitarian flights in the meantime. On 10 September the government of El Salvador announced the country will finally reopen air borders and will allow international flights to resume on 19 September. Only Salvadorans, foreign residents and accredited diplomats are permitted to enter the country, and even then under strict conditions which include quarantine in a government facility.

    Internal Restrictions:
    The legally enforced 24/7 curfew has ended and El Salvador has started a phased reopening plan. Key services (including most shops, banks, petrol stations and restaurants/take away/home delivery food services) are open; entry controls, temperature checks, social distancing measures and limits on customer numbers are common. Schools and universities and some businesses and organisations, remain closed. Public parks, museums and theatres are closed and large gatherings are discouraged.
    On 5 July the government postponed Phase 2 for 15 days to 21 July, with knock on postponements to subsequent phases. Further postponements are possible.

Persons transiting through the country are still permitted. Soldiers have been deployed to 142 non-official entry points to El Salvador, anyone attempting to enter will be imprisoned.

    Civil Aviation Authority has lifted restrictions of operations to/from Mexico (effective when the authorities reopen the airport).
