Entry restrictions

  • Visa is not required for passengers holding a "Certificate of Registration - Overseas Citizen of India" or "Persons of Indian Origin Card" issued by India, provided they are one of the following:
    • Minors born to Indian nationals abroad,
    • Passengers travelling for family emergencies, such as death in the family,
    • Spouses of Indian nationals, provided holding permanent residence in India,
    • University students whose parents are Indian nationals living in India.
  • Passengers holding a "Certificate of Registration - Overseas Citizen of India" or "Persons of Indian Origin Card" issued by India must also complete the registration online here prior to travel.
  • Tourist visas and e-Tourist Visa issued by India are accepted for entry, provided they were issued with 5 years validity. Long duration tourist visas issued with a validity of 10 years are not valid for entry unless the passenger is a national of Japan or the United States. e-Business Visa, e-Medical Visa, e-Emergency X-Mis Visa, e-Conference Visa and e-Medical Attend Visa are also accepted.

  • Passengers transiting from Air Bubble countries must hold a single ticket for the entire journey.

Test and form requirements

  • Unvaccinated passengers: Passengers aged 5 years and older must submit a negative RT-PCR test result tested within 72 hours prior to departure on the online Air Suvidha Portal prior to travel. Failure to submit the RT-PCR report could result in refusal for acceptance.
  • Vaccinated passengers: Test is not required for passengers holding a vaccination certificate issued by India or the listed countries showing that they are fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Fully vaccinated passengers must upload proof of full vaccination on the online Air Suvidha Portal prior to travel.

  • All passengers (including infants and children) travelling from the following countries must submit a Self-Declaration Form (SDF) on the online Air Suvidha Portal prior to travel, including details of their travel history in the past 14 days and either the PCR test obtained within 72 hours prior to departure or proof of full vaccination against Covid-19: Albania, Andorra, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Botswana, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Denmark, Dominica, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Iran, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Mauritius, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, North Macedonia, Oman, Palestine, Panama, Paraguay, Philippines, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Saint Kitts and Nevis, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, the United States, Venezuela, Vietnam, or Zimbabwe.
    • Passengers must carry printed copies of the Self-Declaration Form on arrival in India.
  • All passengers (including infants and children) not travelling from the above countries must submit a Self-Declaration Form (SDF) on the online Air Suvidha Portal prior to travel, including details of their travel history in the past 14 days and the PCR test obtained within 72 hours prior to departure.
    • Passengers must carry printed copies of the Self-Declaration Form on arrival in India.

Application requirements

Quarantine and testing on arrival

  • All passengers will be subject to thermal screening on arrival and may be subject to random Covid-19 testing on arrival at their own expense. Passengers who are symptomatic or who test positive must follow government protocols. Passengers must self-monitor their health for 14 days after arrival.

Location specific regulations

  • Passengers travelling to Punjab must register with the COVA app. Passengers may download the app on their phone or register here and print out a copy of their QR code.
  • Passengers travelling to Uttar Pradesh must register with the state government. Passengers may register here, or call 1800-180-5145 prior to leaving the arrival hall.
  • Passengers travelling to Uttarakhand must register with the state government online. The registration form can be accessed here.
  • Passengers travelling to Chhattisgarh must register for an e-pass here prior to arrival.
  • Passengers travelling to Mizoram must register with the state government online prior to arrival. The registration form can be accessed here.
  • Passengers travelling to Kolkata must fill in and submit the declaration form using the Sandhane app.
  • Passengers travelling to Gujarat must download the Indore 311 app on their phone and register with the state government online here prior to arrival in Gujarat.
  • Passengers travelling to Aurangabad, Shirdi, Nagpur, and Kolhapur in the state of Maharashtra must fill in a Health Declaration Form on arrival. Passengers visiting for less than 8 days must hold evidence of their onward journey.
  • Passengers travelling to Karnataka must comply with the following requirements:
    • Undergo a Covid-19 test upon arrival.
    • Passengers may find more information regarding the testing facilities at Bengaluru Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) online here.

  • Passengers travelling to Kerala must register with the state government here and obtain an e-pass prior to arrival. Passengers must also fill in a self-declaration form on arrival in Kerala.
  • Passengers travelling to Andhra Pradesh must register with the state government here and obtain an e-pass prior to arrival.
  • Passengers travelling to Tamil Nadu must register with the state government here and obtain an e-pass prior to arrival. Passengers should provide onward travel details if travelling to Tamil Nadu for 48 hours or less.
  • Passengers travelling to Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport (BOM) from an at risk country must quarantine for 7 days on arrival in a government facility. These passengers will also be subject to RT-PCR testing on day 2, 4 and 7. If a positive result is received from any of these tests, the passenger will be transferred to a hospital. If negative results are received from all 3 tests, the passenger must quarantine for a further 7 days at home.
  • Passengers arriving in Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport (BOM) with a connecting flight to any other airport in India will be subject to an RT-PCR test on arrival. Passengers will only be permitted to board their connecting flight provided a negative result is received.
