Vaccination requirements

  • Passengers are considered fully vaccinated against Covid-19 if they have received a vaccine approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) or the Ministry of Health Wellness and the Environment (MOHWE) at least 2 weeks prior to arrival. Passengers are considered partially vaccinated if they have received one dose of a 2-dose vaccine or the second dose of a 2-dose vaccine less than 2 weeks prior to arrival. Approved vaccines: AstraZeneca (Covishield, SK Bioscience, or Vaxzevria), Johnson and Johnson, Moderna (Spikevax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm, Sinovac, and Sputnik (Sputnik V).

Form requirements

  • Passengers must complete a Health Declaration Form on arrival.
  • Passengers arriving for medical treatment must hold a negative RT-PCR test certificate obtained within 4 days of their flight and also hold the following:
    • A medical transfer request letter from the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of their home country to the Antigua and Barbuda CMO;
    • A medical report detailing their condition, treatment required and the urgency of the situation;
    • A letter of acceptance from the host institution including the name of the physician who will take care of the passenger; and
    • Passenger's residence in Antigua and Barbuda and name and telephone number of a contact person, if available.

Test requirements

Foreign, non-resident passengers:

  • Unvaccinated passengers: Passengers aged 18 years and older who are not fully vaccinated against Covid-19 aged must either hold a negative RT-PCR test result obtained within 3 days prior to arrival or a negative approved antigen test result obtained within 24 hours prior to arrival. This also applies to passengers in transit. Unvaccinated minors aged between 5 and 18 years must hold a negative RT-PCR test result obtained within 4 days prior to arrival.
  • Vaccinated passengers: Test is not required for passengers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19, provided they do not show symptoms of possible infection.
  • Other exempt passengers: Children aged younger than 5 years.

Nationals and residents of Antigua and Barbuda:

  • Unvaccinated passengers: Passengers 18 years and older who are not fully vaccinated against Covid-19 aged must either hold a negative RT-PCR test result or a negative approved antigen test result obtained within 4 days prior to arrival. This also applies to passengers in transit. Unvaccinated minors aged between 5 and 18 years must hold a negative RT-PCR test result obtained within 4 days prior to arrival.
  • Vaccinated passengers: Test is not required for passengers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19, provided they do not show symptoms of possible infection.
  • Other exempt passengers: Children aged younger than 5 years.

Quarantine and testing on arrival

  • Unvaccinated passengers: Passengers who are not fully vaccinated must take a RT-PCR test on arrival at their own expense. Partially vaccinated passengers must quarantine for 10 days on arrival in their own homes, while unvaccinated passengers must quarantine for 14 days on arrival in their own homes.
  • Vaccinated passengers: Fully vaccinated passengers who are showing symptoms of possible Covid-19 infection may be required to take a PCR test on arrival at their own expense. Instructions on permissible activities while awaiting results will be provided by Port Health officials.
