Vaccination requirements

  • Passengers aged 16 years and older must hold proof that they have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 with either the AstraZeneca, Covaxin, Covishield, Johnson and Johnson, Moderna, Novavax, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinovac, Sinopharm, or Sputnik V vaccine at least 14 days prior to arrival.
    • Passengers younger than 16 years must be accompanied by a fully vaccinated parent or guardian.
  • This does not apply to the following passengers, provided they have applied for exemption by emailing covidexemption@gmail.com or bhpu.nadi@gmail.com (Border Health Protection Unit) and hold approval prior to departure:
    • Passengers aged 16 or 17 years travelling from countries that do not offer vaccination for their age group;
    • Passengers who hold documentation proving that they are exempt from receiving the Covid-19 vaccine. The exemption must be issued by health institutions, have a valid medical reason and issued by a doctor or by the Federal Government of their country of residence; or
    • Passengers who have received a Covid-19 vaccine, a booster dose or 3 doses of a vaccine not recognised by Fiji; or
    • Nationals of Fiji with exceptional circumstances, provided they hold an exemption from the Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services.

Insurance requirements

  • Passengers must hold international medical travel insurance that covers Covid-19. This insurance may be bought online prior to departure.
  • This does not apply to nationals or residents of Fiji, or to the following passengers, provided they hold a supporting letter from their sponsor or employer, or declaring their ability to meet all Covid-19 related expenses:
    • Passengers who hold a valid permit;
    • Airline crew;
    • Passengers travelling for medical care; or
    • Passengers in transit for less than 72 hours.
