Flight restrictions

  • Flights to Samoa are currently suspended.
    • This does not apply to flights approved by the Samoan government.

Entry restrictions

  • Passengers travelling from Australia, Botswana, Belgium, Eswatini, Fiji, Germany, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, or Zimbabwe are not permitted to travel to Samoa.
  • Passengers are not permitted to enter Samoa, unless granted permission prior to departure.
  • Passengers aged 17 years and younger are not permitted to enter Samoa if they are not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Vaccination requirements

  • Passengers must hold a hard copy of a Covid-19 vaccination certificate showing they have received the required doses of a World Health Organization (WHO) approved vaccine (AstraZeneca, Johnson and Johnson, Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, or Sinopharm) at least 2 weeks prior to departure.
    • This does not apply to passengers aged 12 years and younger, and those who hold a written report from a medical officer stating that they are medically exempt from vaccination.
  • All documents must be in English. Passengers holding documents in other languages will be denied boarding.

Form requirements

Test requirements

  • Passengers must hold all of the following:
    • A hard copy of a negative NAAT test (RT-PCR, NEAR, TMA, LAMP or SDA) result obtained within 48 hours prior to departure or negative Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) result obtained within 24 hours prior to departure. The RAT must be supervised by a registered medical profession and it must include a signed written report; and
    • A hard copy of medical clearance obtained within 120 hours prior to departure.

  • Passengers who have previously received a positive RT-PCR test are not permitted to travel to Samoa unless they hold 3 consecutive negative tests obtained 7 days apart from the date of the positive test. All PCR test results, genomic sequencing tests, and serology tests must be submitted via email to the Director General of Health at ceo@health.gov.ws and Dr Robert Thomsen at robert@health.gov.ws prior to departure.
  • All documents must be in English. Passengers holding documents in other languages will be denied boarding.

Quarantine requirements

  • Passengers must quarantine in designated facilities for at least 10 days or as determined by the Ministry of Health.

Mask requirements

  • Passengers must wear a face mask during their flight, upon arrival and during quarantine.
