Vaccination requirements

  • Passengers aged 12 years and older must hold a digital or physical copy of their Covid-19 vaccination certificate issued in English showing they are fully vaccinated. Passengers are advised to have received a booster dose prior to travel. Passengers must submit their vaccination certificate 48 hours prior to departure to travel@health.gov.to.
  • Passengers with medical conditions and who are exempt from vaccination must email travel@health.gov.to at least 48 hours prior to departure with a written report from a registered medical officer stating reasons for exemptions.
  • This does not apply to the following passengers, provided they hold a Tongan passport or certificate of identity:
    • Passengers born in Tonga or abroad to a Tongan parent;
    • Spouses of a Tongan national, provided they hold a written declaration with the Minister of Foreign Affairs that they wish to assume Tongan nationality and they take the oath of allegiance prescribed by this Act; or
    • Passengers naturalized under the Tongan Nationality Act.

Form requirements

  • Passengers must complete a Health Arrival Declaration Form during their flight.
  • Passengers are advised to hold travel insurance.
    • This does not apply to nationals or residents of Tonga.

Quarantine and testing on arrival

  • Passengers with signs and symptoms of Covid-19 will be subject to testing on arrival. If the test result is positive, they must quarantine at home for 5 days. Passengers who are still symptomatic must quarantine for an additional 3 days.
