Mask requirements

  • All passengers must wear a face mask during their flight and at the airport.

Vaccination requirements

  • Passengers aged 18 years and older must hold proof that they were fully vaccinated against Covid-19 with a vaccine approved by the Ghana Food and Drugs Authority or the World Health Organization. Passengers are required to upload their vaccination card onto the PanaBIOS or onto the Global Haven website.

  • This does not apply to the following passengers:
    • Nationals and residents of Ghana who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and can choose to receive the vaccine on arrival or quarantine for 7 days on arrival; or
    • Nationals of Ghana who are travelling from Ukraine.
  • Passengers aged between 9 and 18 years who are not fully vaccinated must hold a negative RT-PCR digital test certificate obtained within 48 hours prior to departure.

Transit restrictions

  • Passengers are not permitted to transit through Ghana for more than one calendar day;
  • Passengers transiting through Kotoka International Airport and passengers arriving in Ghana who do not hold proof of vaccination will not be permitted to enter Ghana.

Form requirements

  • All passengers must submit a completed Health Declaration Form online prior to departure here before first embarkation point of departure. Paper copies are not accepted.

Test requirements

  • Unvaccinated passengers: Passengers aged 10 years or older must hold a negative RT-PCR digital test certificate obtained within 48 hours prior to departure. Digital test certificates must be based on the African Union's Trusted Travel Guidelines and the United Nations Development Programme sponsored Global Haven Program. Passengers entering or transiting through Ghana from countries not yet part of the Trusted Travel initiative should use Global Haven for Covid-19 test results.
  • Vaccinated passengers: Test is not required for passengers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 at least 14 days prior to departure.
  • Other exempt passengers:
    • Children younger than 10 years;
    • Ghanaian residents who have departed Ghana and return within 1 week;
    • Nationals of Ghana who are travelling from Ukraine; or
    • Crew members.

Quarantine and testing on arrival

  • All passengers will be subject to temperature screening on arrival.
  • Unvaccinated passengers: Passengers aged 18 years and older must take a Covid-19 test on arrival and they will also receive a Covid-19 vaccine on arrival.
  • Vaccinated passengers: Test and quarantine is not required for passengers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
  • Other exempt passengers:
    • Passengers in transit; or
    • Crew members.

Exit restrictions

  • Passengers departing Ghana will be subject to screening prior to departure. Passengers whose body temperature is above 38°C may not be allowed to travel.
