01/09/2020 Hungarian citizens entering the country must be quarantined for 14 days. An exception to this is if they can credibly show two negative coronavirus (PCR) tests 48 hours apart.; From the 22/09/2020 Hungarian nationals returning to Hungary from abroad in passenger traffic are now required to retire to compulsory home quarantine or designated quarantine for 10 days instead of 14. Non-Hungarian nationals can enter the country only with permission and are also required to quarantine for 10 days; 23/06/2021: The following categories can enter Hungary without being subject to restrictions: a) those crossing the border in freight traffic b) persons holding diplomatic or a diplomatic service passport or a service passport for seamen c) persons reporting to entry holding a private passport or other travel document for the purpose of official visit (the purpose of official visit shall be proved with documents) d) those providing satisfactory proof while entering Hungary that they have undergone COVID-19 infection within 6 months prior to reporting to entry e) those providing their protection against the COVID-19 while entering Hungary with valid immunity certificate (issued according to the 60/2021 Government Decree) with the travel document indicated on the immunity certificate; and a person under his/her supervision who enters Hungary with him/her and has not reached the age of eighteen f) those providing their protection against the COVID-19 while entering Hungary with valid immunity certificate issued by a State specified by decree of the Minister responsible for foreign policy and a person under the age of 18 years under his/her supervision who enters Hungary along with him/her. In case of a Hungarian citizen; should a medical check not reveal the suspicion of infection and a) the Hungarian citizen has a home address or residence in Hungary; she/he will be placed into mandatory home quarantine for 10 days b) the Hungarian citizen not living abroad and in the absence of home address or residence in Hungary; she/he will be placed into in a quarantine designated by the competent epidemiological authority for 10 days c) the Hungarian citizen living abroad without home address or residence in Hungary; she/he will be placed into a quarantine or official home quarantine designated by the competent epidemiological authority for 10 days.; 27/11/2021 Hungarian nationals who arrive from southern Africa or have visited the region in the two weeks prior to returning home will have to quarantine for a period of 14 days. The restrictions apply to arrivals from Botswana; Eswatini; Lesotho; Mozambique; Namibia; the Republic of South Africa and Zimbabwe. Hungarians returning from the region will be required to enter a designated or official home quarantine regardless of whether or not they are suspected of having contracted the virus. The decree bans entry to all non-Hungarian citizens from the region with the exception of those given special permission by the authorities. Foreign nationals given permission to enter are still required to quarantine for a full 14 days even if they produce a negative PCR test.; 07/03/2022 Restrictions on entry into the territory of Hungary are lifted.;

Ab dem 22.09.2020 müssen sich ungarische Staatsangehörige, die aus dem Ausland im Personenverkehr nach Ungarn zurückkehren, nun für 10 statt 14 Tage in die obligatorische Heimquarantäne oder ausgewiesene Quarantäne zurückziehen. Nichtungarische Staatsangehörige können nur mit Genehmigung einreisen und sind es auch 10 Tage in Quarantäne müssen; 23.06.2021: Folgende Personengruppen können uneingeschränkt nach Ungarn einreisen: a) Personen, die die Grenze im Güterverkehr überschreiten b) Personen mit Diplomaten- oder Diplomatendienstpass oder einem Dienstpass für Seeleute c) Personen, die sich bei der Einreise melden ein privater Reisepass oder ein anderes Reisedokument zum Zweck des offiziellen Besuchs (der Zweck des offiziellen Besuchs muss mit Dokumenten nachgewiesen werden) d) diejenigen, die bei der Einreise nach Ungarn einen zufriedenstellenden Nachweis erbringen, dass sie sich innerhalb von 6 Monaten vor der Meldung zur Einreise einer COVID-19-Infektion unterzogen haben e) diejenigen, die ihren Schutz vor COVID-19 bei der Einreise nach Ungarn mit einem gültigen Immunitätszertifikat (ausgestellt gemäß dem Regierungsdekret 60/2021) mit dem auf dem Immunitätszertifikat angegebenen Reisedokument bieten; und eine Person unter seiner Aufsicht, die mit ihm nach Ungarn einreist und das 18. Lebensjahr noch nicht vollendet hat Minister für Außenpolitik und eine Person unter 18 Jahren unter seiner Aufsicht, die zusammen mit ihm nach Ungarn einreist. Im Falle eines ungarischen Staatsbürgers; wenn eine ärztliche Untersuchung keinen Infektionsverdacht ergibt und a) der ungarische Staatsbürger eine Wohnadresse oder einen Wohnsitz in Ungarn hat; sie/er wird für 10 Tage in obligatorische häusliche Quarantäne gebracht; sie/er wird für 10 Tage in eine von der zuständigen epidemiologischen Behörde festgelegte Quarantäne gebracht c) im Ausland lebender ungarischer Staatsbürger ohne Wohnsitz oder Wohnsitz in Ungarn; sie/er wird für 10 Tage in eine von der zuständigen epidemiologischen Behörde angeordnete Quarantäne oder amtliche Heimquarantäne gebracht; 27.11.2021 Ungarische Staatsangehörige, die aus dem südlichen Afrika anreisen oder die Region in den zwei Wochen vor der Rückkehr nach Hause besucht haben, müssen sich für einen Zeitraum von 14 Tagen in Quarantäne begeben. Die Beschränkungen gelten für Einreisende aus Botswana; Eswatini; Lesotho; Mosambik; Namibia; die Republik Südafrika und Simbabwe. Ungarn, die aus der Region zurückkehren, müssen sich in eine ausgewiesene oder offizielle Quarantäne zu Hause begeben, unabhängig davon, ob sie im Verdacht stehen, sich mit dem Virus infiziert zu haben oder nicht. Das Dekret verbietet allen nicht-ungarischen Bürgern aus der Region die Einreise, mit Ausnahme derjenigen, die von den Behörden eine Sondergenehmigung erhalten haben. Ausländer, denen eine Einreiseerlaubnis erteilt wurde, müssen sich weiterhin für volle 14 Tage in Quarantäne begeben, auch wenn sie einen negativen PCR-Test vorlegen.; 03.07.2022 Die Einreisebeschränkungen in das Hoheitsgebiet Ungarns werden aufgehoben.;
