Transit requirements

  • Passengers are not permitted to transit through Myanmar.
    • This does not apply to nationals of Myanmar.

Vaccination requirements

  • Passengers must hold a Covid-19 vaccination certificate showing that they have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 at least 14 days prior to arrival. The certificate must be issued in English and/or Burmese and must include the name of vaccine, and the country and date(s) of vaccination.
  • This does not apply to:
    • Passengers aged younger than 12 years, provided they are travelling with a fully vaccinated parent or guardian; or
    • Myanmar nationals on relief flights.
  • Accepted vaccines are: AstraZeneca (Covishield, SK Bioscience, Siam BioScience, Serum Institute of India), CanSino Biologics, Corbevax, Covaxin, Johnson and Johnson, Moderna (Spikevax), Myancopharm, Novavax, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinopharm, Sinovac, and Sputnik (Gam-Covid-Vac, Sputnik Light, Sputnik V).

Form requirements

  • Passengers must purchase Covid-19 insurance from Myanna Insurance.
    • This does not apply to nationals and residents of Myanmar.
    • This does not apply to diplomats, passengers who travel for business purposes operating in and out of Myanmar, UN officials and their family members from their respective countries, provided they hold health insurance.
  • Passengers submit a Health Declaration Form on arrival.
  • State guests and foreign delegates may seek exemption from entry requirements by submitting a request letter to the Myanmar Central Committee for Prevention, Control and Treatment of Covid-19, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Health at least 5 days prior to arrival.

Test requirements

  • Unvaccinated passengers: Passengers aged 12 years and older must hold a negative RT-PCR test result obtained within 48 hours prior to arrival. The test result must be in English and details of the passenger must match their passport.
  • Vaccinated Passengers: Test is not required for passengers who hold proof that they have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
  • This does not apply to Myanmar nationals on relief flights.

Quarantine and testing on arrival

  • Passengers will be subject to a thermal screening on arrival and those who present Covid-19 symptoms will be subject to a rapid diagnostic test. If the test result is positive, passengers will be taken to a medical facility, treatment centre, or hotel designated by the Ministry of Health.
  • Air crew in a layover in Myanmar must quarantine until their next flight at a hotel designated by the Ministry of Health.
