If a high level of vaccination of residents and staff has been achieved two visits per week should be facilitated on compassionate grounds at framework levels 3; 4 and 5. Removal of the limit on duration of visits to 1 hour (unless a limit is required for operational reasons). Residents who have recovered from COVID-19 should be regarded as equivalent to vaccinated residents for 6 months after diagnosis; 22/02/2022: lifting of restrictions.

COVID-19 travel restrictions have been lifted in Ireland. Travellers are not required to provide proof of vaccination, recovery or a negative PCR test result. There are no post-arrival quarantine or testing requirements.

If 2 weeks have passed since you got your second dose of the vaccine; you can meet with other fully vaccinated people from 1 other household indoors without wearing masks or staying 2 metres apart; 10/05/2021: indoor private home visiting is permitted (without masks or social distancing) in the following cases: a) fully vaccinated people can meet indoors with other fully vaccinated people as long as there are no more than 3 households present b) fully vaccinated people can meet indoors with unvaccinated people from a single household; provided that they are not at risk of severe illness and no more than 3 households are present; 09/07/2021: there is no limit on the number of people who can visit together if they are all fully vaccinated or have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 9 months; 30/07/2021: passengers arriving into Ireland from inside EU (+ Iceland; Lichtenstein; Norway; Switzerland); with valid proof of vaccination; are exempted from travel-related testing or quarantine; 02/11/2021: requirement for EU Digital COVID Certificate (COVID-19 pass) (vaccine or recovery certificate) for indoor hospitality and events. This also applies to cinemas and theatres; 07/12/2021: a COVID pass (vaccine or recovery certificate) is also required for: a) gyms and leisure centres (excluding access to swimming pools or standalone swimming pool facilities) b) hotel bars and restaurants; 22/01/2022: COVID pass requirement across all domestic venues/activities is removed.
