The main rule is the normal operation of kindergartens and schools.; 01/02/2022 For kindergartens; schools and adult education; there is a requirement to operate at a green level of measures according to the traffic light model.; 12/02/2022 The requirement for infection control-sound operation in the covid-19 regulations is repealed; thus so is the traffic light model.;

07/12/2021 Universities; colleges and vocational colleges should as soon as practically introduce teaching in smaller groups and more digital teaching and should facilitate exams and compulsory courses; either digital or physical.; 13/01/2022 Colleges; universities and vocational colleges are recommended to facilitate more physical education. Smaller groups / problem solving / seminars in classrooms should be limited to a maximum of 30 people with a distance of 1 meter.; 01/02/2022 Colleges; universities and vocational colleges are recommended to strive for full physical presence during teaching. The recommendation of a distance of 1 meter can be deviated from when teaching.

09/12/2021 For kindergartens and schools; the traffic light model applies. In any case; the recommendation of a distance of 1 meter does not apply to leisure time for children of kindergarten and primary school age; and for everyone under the age of 20; there is an exception to the recommendation also for organized leisure activities. There are also exceptions for adults who work with services for children and young people and vulnerable groups. Children in kindergartens and primary schools may have visits from their own cohort/class / department even if it exceeds the recommended number of guests.; 13/12/2021 All primary and lower secondary schools and kindergartens must be run at a yellow level from no later than Thursday 16 December. Upper secondary schools and adult education must have a red level. Schools and kindergartens must ensure that they are prepared for a rapid transition to the red level. Universities; colleges and vocational colleges must facilitate digital teaching.; 27/12/2021 From 1 January 2022; employees in schools and kindergartens will be exempted from infection quarantine during working hours. Employees who have been in close contact with an infected person can go to work; but must be tested on days 3 and 7 after close contact. UPDATE 5 November 2020: All universities, colleges and vocational colleges must assess whether in the period ahead they can reduce teaching and other activities that contribute to increased mobility, including pressure on public transport. Upper secondary schools and upper secondary schools must prepare for the fact that the level of measures may turn red if the infection rises further. The government is adding several measures that municipalities in residential and working regions with high infection pressure should consider introducing. The Norwegian Directorate of Health and the National Institute of Public Health shall assess exactly which measures are relevant in different regions in the country, so that it is clear which measures are necessary to assess when the infection situation develops. Municipalities in a living and working region that introduce measures should do as much as possible and coordinated as possible. ONLY FOR OSLO, AS OF 10 NOV 2020: a red level will be introduced with reinforced infection control measures and smaller groups in upper secondary school, and a red level is considered to be introduced in upper secondary school in the coming weeks. UPDATE 27 October 2020: SPECIFICALLY FOR OSLO: universities and colleges should have digital teaching where possible. UPDATE October 2020: education facilities are open, but guidelines on distancing, number of people, remote teaching, delivery of kids, food, etc. apply. - Pupils in 5th-10th class (11 – 16 years) and high school start school again as of Monday May 11, 2020; - Kindergartens opened 20 April, but those who need more time can stay closed; - Children from age 6-10 returned to school, including after-school services, from 27 April 2020; - The two highest levels of students in pre-university schools, age 17-18, opened 27 April 2020; - Universities, colleges and vocational schools, etc. could begin regular teaching from 15th June 2020, as long as they carry out teaching and activities in accordance with the current regulations and advice on infection control.
