COVID Alert Malta is an app that helps fight the COVID-19 epidemic. The app aims to notify users at risk of having been exposed to the virus as early as possible – even when they are asymptomatic. These users can then get tested. This minimises the spread of the virus; whilst speeding up a return to normal life in Malta. By being alerted early; if these users test positive they can also receive any necessary treatment promptly and lower the risk of serious consequences.

16/08/021 People in the same household with a confirmed case; or classified as high-risk contacts; are required to stay in quarantine for up to 14 days from the latest exposure to the COVID-19 case. Contacts of a confirmed case of COVID-19 who are in possession of a valid vaccination certificate are eligible for early release from quarantine following a negative COVID-19 test.;03/01/2022 The standard isolation period for household contacts is of 14 days from date of swab of the positive case. When the positive case is eligible for 10 days release (has no symptoms for the last 3 days of their isolation); and the contact is 18 years or over and in possession of a valid vaccine certificate with a booster dose; or the contact is 5-17 years and in possession of a valid vaccine certificate with full primary schedule of vaccination with 2 doses; and does not have symptoms; can be isolated for 10 days. Children under the age of 5; and persons living in the household who do not fulfil the eligibility criteria for a shorter quarantine period are required to remain in quarantine for the full 14 days.;21/02/2022 The household members of primary/high-risk contacts (secondary contacts); who are not symptomatic or have not become a primary contact of a confirmed case or have not tested positive themselves; are eligible for exemption from quarantine; if they are 18 years old or over and have a valid vaccine certificate with a booster dose or are 5-17 years old and in possession of a valid vaccine certificate with two doses.; 02/05/2022 Household contacts DO NOT need to quarantine. No other persons who were in close contact with the positive case need to undergo any period of mandatory quarantine; irrespective of their vaccination status or the proximity of contact. Patients/residents in hospital or a residential home identified as close contacts of a positive case are required to observe a five-day quarantine period and can be released from quarantine if they test negative on the 5th day after the last exposure to the positive person with the day of exposure being considered DAY 0.

Persons who are not in possession of a recognised vaccination certificate travelling to Malta are required to submit themselves to a period of quarantine of 14 days. ;29/09/2021 Travellers from red countries who are unvaccinated and travellers from dark red countries are required to submit themselves to a period of quarantine of 14 days.;14/02/2022 Travellers from red countries are only permitted to travel to Malta without undergoing quarantine if they are in possession of a valid recognized vaccination certificate which confirms that the person has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Persons between the ages or five (5) and eleven (11) both ages included; can either present a negative PCR taken within 72 hours prior to arrival in Malta or a valid vaccination certificate. Persons below the age of five (5) do not need to present a negative PCR test nor a vaccine certificate. Persons arriving from dark red zones in possession of a valid recognized vaccine certificate; shall be required to submit themselves to a period of quarantine of 10 days; 23/03/2022 Persons aged 12 years and over arriving from red zones with no possession of a valid recognized vaccine certificate; shall be required to submit themselves to a period of quarantine of 14 days. In the case of travellers returning from dark red countries or zones who are in possession of a valid recognized vaccination certificate; the applicable quarantine period is 7 days provided the individual is in possession of a negative (‘Not Reactive’) result for a nasopharyngeal PCR test carried out on Day 5-7 of their quarantine period; 11/04/2022 Travellers who do not hold valid proof of vaccination; proof of recovery from COVID-19 or a negative result as indicated above will be subject to a period of quarantine of 14 days. Children younger than 6 years are exempt from pre-departure testing requirements. Persons of all ages who have applied for and are authorized to travel to Malta from dark red countries shall be required to submit themselves to a period of quarantine of 14 days if they are not in possession of a valid proof of vaccination; proof of recovery from COVID-19 or a negative result; of 7 days if they are in possession of a valid recognized vaccination certificate and of 5-7 days if they are in possession of a negative test.; 09/05/2022: Travellers from any country aged >5 years who are not in possession of a recognised vaccination or recovery or test certificate; shall be required to submit themselves to a period of quarantine of 10 days. Early release is effective from day 7 from date of swab provided that on the 7th day of quarantine the person undergoes an official test (carried out by a health professional) that results negative.; 25/07/2022 : people travelling to Malta without a vaccine certificate or a recovery certificate who do not present a negative PCR/Rapid Test before arriving in Malta no longer need to quarantine.

Reisende, die nicht im Besitz der erforderlichen Dokumente sind, müssen sich für 10 Tage in Quarantäne begeben. Die Quarantäne kann am 8. Tag enden, nach einem negativen Testergebnis am 7. Tag.

Die Einreisebestimmungen hängen von der Farbe des Abfluglandes ab, gemäß Maltas nationaler Klassifikation .

Kinder unter 6 Jahren sind von den oben aufgeführten Regeln ausgenommen.

Ab dem 6. Juni sind Kinder unter 12 Jahren von der Pflicht zur Vorlage von COVID-19-Bescheinigungen befreit.

Personen, die nicht im Besitz eines anerkannten Impfpasses sind und nach Malta reisen, müssen sich einer 14-tägigen Quarantäne unterziehen. ;29.09.2021 Reisende aus roten Ländern, die nicht geimpft sind, und Reisende aus dunkelroten Ländern müssen sich einer 14-tägigen Quarantäne unterziehen.;14.02.2022 Reisende aus roten Ländern dürfen nur nach Malta reisen ohne Quarantäne, wenn sie im Besitz eines gültigen anerkannten Impfpasses sind, der bestätigt, dass die Person vollständig gegen COVID-19 geimpft wurde. Personen im Alter zwischen fünf (5) und elf (11), beide Altersgruppen eingeschlossen; kann entweder einen negativen PCR vorlegen, der innerhalb von 72 Stunden vor der Ankunft in Malta durchgeführt wurde, oder einen gültigen Impfpass. Personen unter fünf (5) Jahren müssen weder einen negativen PCR-Test noch eine Impfbescheinigung vorlegen. Personen, die aus dunkelroten Zonen einreisen und im Besitz eines gültigen anerkannten Impfpasses sind; müssen sich einer 10-tägigen Quarantäne unterziehen; 23.03.2022 Personen ab 12 Jahren, die aus roten Zonen einreisen, ohne Besitz eines gültigen anerkannten Impfpasses; müssen sich einer 14-tägigen Quarantäne unterziehen. Bei Reiserückkehrern aus dunkelroten Ländern oder Zonen, die im Besitz eines gültigen anerkannten Impfpasses sind; die anwendbare Quarantänezeit beträgt 7 Tage, vorausgesetzt, die Person hat ein negatives („nicht reaktives“) Ergebnis für einen nasopharyngealen PCR-Test, der an Tag 5-7 ihrer Quarantänezeit durchgeführt wurde; 04.11.2022 Reisende ohne gültigen Impfnachweis; Der Nachweis der Genesung von COVID-19 oder ein negatives Ergebnis wie oben angegeben unterliegt einer Quarantäne von 14 Tagen. Kinder unter 6 Jahren sind von den Testanforderungen vor der Abreise ausgenommen. Personen jeden Alters, die aus dunkelroten Ländern einen Antrag gestellt haben und berechtigt sind, nach Malta einzureisen, müssen sich ohne gültigen Impfnachweis einer 14-tägigen Quarantäne unterziehen; Nachweis der Genesung von COVID-19 oder ein negatives Ergebnis; von 7 Tagen, wenn sie im Besitz eines gültigen anerkannten Impfpasses sind und von 5-7 Tagen, wenn sie im Besitz eines negativen Tests sind; 09.05.2022: Reisende aus allen Ländern im Alter von >5 Jahren, die nicht im Besitz eines anerkannten Impf- oder Genesungs- oder Testzertifikats sind; müssen sich einer 10-tägigen Quarantäne unterziehen. Die vorzeitige Entlassung gilt ab dem 7. Tag ab dem Datum des Abstrichs, sofern sich die Person am 7. Tag der Quarantäne einem offiziellen Test (durchgeführt von einem Angehörigen der Gesundheitsberufe) mit negativem Ergebnis unterzieht.

Jede Person, bei der eine Infektion mit SARS-CoV-2 diagnostiziert wird, muss; sofort nach Erhalt einer mündlichen oder schriftlichen Anordnung des Superintendent of Public Health; sich für diesen Zeitraum der vom Superintendent of Public Health angeordneten Selbstisolation unterziehen. Diese Anordnung gilt auch für Personen, die in derselben Wohnung leben wie der COVID-19-Fall. ; 01.03.2022: Die Standardisolationszeit beträgt 14 Tage ab dem Datum des Abstrichs. Wenn die positive Person in den letzten 3 Tagen ihrer Isolation keine Symptome hat; wenn die Person 18 Jahre oder älter ist und im Besitz eines gültigen Impfpasses mit einer Auffrischimpfung ist; oder wenn die Person 5-17 Jahre alt ist und im Besitz einer gültigen Impfbescheinigung mit vollständigem Grundimpfplan mit 2 Dosen ist; die Isolationszeit kann 10 Tage betragen. ; 02.05.2022 Personen, die mit SARS-CoV-2 infiziert sind – die Standardisolationszeit beträgt 10 Tage ab dem Datum des Abstrichs. Die vorzeitige Entlassung gilt für 7 Tage Isolation ab dem Datum des Abstrichs, vorausgesetzt, dass sich die Person am 7. Tag der Isolation einem offiziellen Abstrichtest (durchgeführt von medizinischem Fachpersonal) mit negativem Ergebnis unterzieht. Wenn der am 7. Tag durchgeführte Test positiv ausfällt; Die Person muss 10 Tage Isolation absolvieren.

16.08.021 Personen im gleichen Haushalt mit bestätigtem Fall; oder als Kontaktpersonen mit hohem Risiko eingestuft werden; müssen bis zu 14 Tage nach dem letzten Kontakt mit dem COVID-19-Fall in Quarantäne bleiben. Kontaktpersonen eines bestätigten COVID-19-Falls, die im Besitz eines gültigen Impfpasses sind, können nach einem negativen COVID-19-Test vorzeitig aus der Quarantäne entlassen werden ab dem Datum des Abstrichs des positiven Falls. Wenn der positive Fall für 10 Tage freigelassen werden kann (keine Symptome in den letzten 3 Tagen seiner Isolation); und der Kontakt ist 18 Jahre oder älter und im Besitz einer gültigen Impfbescheinigung mit einer Auffrischimpfung; oder der Kontakt ist 5-17 Jahre alt und im Besitz eines gültigen Impfpasses mit vollständigem Grundimpfplan mit 2 Dosen; und hat keine Symptome; kann für 10 Tage isoliert werden. Kinder unter 5 Jahren; und im Haushalt lebende Personen, die die Anspruchsvoraussetzungen für eine kürzere Quarantänezeit nicht erfüllen, müssen die gesamten 14 Tage in Quarantäne bleiben. 21.02.2022 ; die nicht symptomatisch sind oder nicht zu einem primären Kontakt eines bestätigten Falls geworden sind oder selbst nicht positiv getestet wurden; Anspruch auf Befreiung von der Quarantäne haben; wenn sie 18 Jahre oder älter sind und einen gültigen Impfpass mit einer Auffrischimpfung haben oder 5-17 Jahre alt sind und im Besitz eines gültigen Impfpasses mit zwei Dosen sind.
