Auto-quarantine: Any person who has been in direct or close contact (<2m; more than 15 minutes) with a confirmed case of infection shall self-quarantine at home for 7 days; followed by a 7-day period of self-surveillance (resumption of normal activities; but monitoring body temperature twice a day; or coughing; difficulty breathing); 19/07/2020: sanctions if non-compliance with isolation or quarantine measures; 23/10/2020: Adaptation of the self-isolation and self-quarantine procedure; 11/02/2022: Quarantines related to contact cases is abolished.

Case definition and explanation of isolation measures; 19/07/2020: sanctions for non-respect of isolation procedures; 22/10/2020: Adaptation of the self-isolation procedure. A person who tests positive can be placed in isolation for a period of 10 days; 12/01/2022: The maximum duration of isolation is 10 days for people who do not have a complete vaccination schedule or recovery certificate (both not older than 180 days); or a booster vaccination. If infected people are vaccinated; recovered form previous infection or received a booster vaccination; the maximum duration of isolation is reduced to 6 days; provided that the concerned people carry out 2 rapid antigenic test on days 5 and 6 of isolation and that the result is negative each time; 11/02/2022: In the case of isolation; the 10-day period can be shortened if the infected person performs 2 rapid antigen SARS-CoV-2 tests within 24 hours of each other with negative results. This new duration of isolation applies to all persons; regardless of their vaccination status.

The person who tested positive is asked to provide the Health Inspectorate with the contact details of all close contacts they have had in the days prior to the test and/or before the onset of symptoms; 24/10/2020: Two declaration forms are made online on the website www.covid19.lu. If you have tested positive for COVID-19: You must immediately go into isolation; without waiting for the call from the Contact Tracing team. If you have been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19: You must self-quarantine; 07/11/2020: the tracing procedure via the declaration forms has been optimized; 31/12/2021: If you test positive for COVID-19: self-isolate and notify the people with whom you have been in close contact over the last 2 days. You need to follow a different procedure for reporting your result; depending on the type of testing [antigen self-test (Schnelltest) or PCR/certified antigen test]. If you were in high-risk contact with a COVID-19 positive person: a) you will receive a prescription by email to perform a PCR test 6 days after the last contact with the positive person b) If you are not vaccinated or recovered; you will also receive a quarantine order. The quarantine ends on the 7th day; provided that a PCR test has been carried out on the 6th day after the last contact; and that this test is negative. For 7 days after quarantine; consider self-monitoring and wear a mask when in contact with other people c) Should symptoms appear during your quarantine period or even after a negative test; you should immediately test and self-isolate without delay d) Further reduce social contact; observe protective measures and; if possible; work from home until your PCR test result is negative e) If you test positive; please follow the procedure above; 25/02/2022: No contact by the Contact Tracing team if one is a close contact. After the contact it is recommended that for a period of 7 days to avoid contact with vulnerable people; ; wear a mask during this period and get tested regularly. Recommendation to carry out self-tests for 5 days following the last contact.

Any person traveling by air from a third country; that is not a member of the EU or the Schengen area; will have to undergo an additional rapid antigen test upon arrival at Luxembourg airport. In case of refusal to undergo this test; the person will remain in quarantine for a period of 14 days. This quarantine can end at any time; upon obtaining a negative test result; 06/05/2021: All people coming from India the last 14 days have to undergo a Covid 19 Test (PCR or Rapid Antigen test); 07/06/2021: New constraints for travellers coming from the UK to Luxembourg. These individuals will be subject to a free-of-charge test on arrival; a strict quarantine of 7 days; and a later second test; 27/11/2021: Any person who has stayed in South Africa; Botswana; Eswatini; Lesotho; Mozambique; Namibia or Zimbabwe in the 14 days preceding their arrival on Luxembourg territory must undergo a COVID-19 test (PCR; TMA or LAMP methods) as soon as possible by indicating to the medical analysis laboratory that he or she has stayed in one or more of these countries. Upon arrival in Luxembourg; the persons concerned are placed in strict quarantine for 7 days with the obligation to undergo a second nucleic acid amplification tests of SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA (PCR; TMA or LAMP methods) from the 6th day of quarantine. In the event of refusal to submit to the test on arrival or at the end of the 7-day quarantine period; the quarantine will be extended for a further 7 days; bringing the total duration to 14 days; 16/12/2021: the measure is extended until January 14 2022; 18/01/2022: No quarantine requirement anymore.

Juli 2020 zur Einführung einer Reihe von Massnahmen zur Bekämpfung der COVID-19-Pandemie: Anpassung der Personenzahl auf 10; ab denen Versammlungen den Sitzplatzauflagen und einem Mindestabstand von zwei Metern unterliegen; ansonsten besteht Maskenpflicht; Kunden können mit Geldstrafen rechnen, wenn sie keine Masken tragen.; 19.07.2020: Sanktion bei Nichteinhaltung von Isolations- oder Quarantänemaßnahmen mit Geldbuße von 25 bis 500 Euro; 22.10.2020 zur Autoquarantäne: Jedem mit positivem Test wird empfohlen, seine Hochrisikokontakte selbst zu informieren, damit sich diese Personen (Kontakte) in Selbstquarantäne begeben. Kontakt mit hohem Risiko ist definiert als: 1) Kontakt von mehr als 15 Minuten; innerhalb von 2 Metern; ohne richtiges Tragen der Maske; Auftreten innerhalb des Zeitraums ab 48 Stunden vor den ersten Symptomen; beziehungsweise; ab dem Datum der Testentnahme, wenn keine Symptome vorhanden sind. Das Gesundheitsinspektorat wird weiterhin systematisch Kontaktpersonen anrufen, bei denen ein hohes Infektionsrisiko im familiären Umfeld besteht (höchstes Übertragungsrisiko, da im familiären Umfeld die wenigsten Präventivmaßnahmen ergriffen werden) und wird; wie in der Vergangenheit; ein Quarantänerezept ausstellen, das im Bedarfsfall; kann eine Arbeitsunfähigkeitsbescheinigung (CIT) wert sein; sowie ein Rezept für einen COVID-19-PCR-Test am 6. Tag nach dem potenziell infektiösen Kontakt. Diese Personen sollten ab dem letzten Kontakt mit der infizierten Person 7 Tage zu Hause bleiben. Das Gesundheitsinspektorat stellt ihnen bei Bedarf eine Arbeitsniederlegungsbescheinigung aus. Während dieser Zeit; ungeschützter Kontakt mit anderen Personen sollte vermieden werden; 02.11.2022: Quarantänen im Zusammenhang mit Kontaktfällen werden abgeschafft.

Kommunikation über die Falldefinition und Verfahren zum Umgang mit Verdachtsfällen; 22.10.2020: 1) Selbstisolation bzw. Isolation gilt für Personen, die eine bestätigte Infektion mit COVID-19 haben. Sie müssen sich zu Hause selbst isolieren und Personen, die unter demselben Dach leben und intime Beziehungen haben, müssen für einen Zeitraum von 7 Tagen unter Quarantäne gestellt werden. Diese Maßnahme soll verhindern, dass die infizierte Person; wer ist ansteckend; davon abhält, die Infektion auf seine Umgebung zu übertragen. 2) Die Isolation wird vom Arzt für mindestens 10 Tage nach Auftreten der Symptome verordnet. Während dieser Zeit der Hausarrest; Jeglicher Kontakt mit anderen Personen sollte vermieden werden und eine chirurgische Maske sollte getragen werden, wenn sie sich in Anwesenheit anderer Personen aufhält; 01.12.2022: Die maximale Dauer der Isolation beträgt 10 Tage für Personen, die keinen vollständigen Impfplan oder Genesungsnachweis haben (beide nicht älter als 180 Tage); oder eine Auffrischimpfung. Wenn infizierte Personen geimpft werden; sich von einer früheren Infektion erholt oder eine Auffrischungsimpfung erhalten haben; die maximale Isolationsdauer wird auf 6 Tage verkürzt; vorausgesetzt, dass die betroffenen Personen an den Tagen 5 und 6 der Isolierung 2 Antigen-Schnelltests durchführen und das Ergebnis jedes Mal negativ ist; 02.11.2022: Bei Isolation; die 10-tägige Frist kann verkürzt werden, wenn die infizierte Person innerhalb von 24 Stunden zwei Antigen-SARS-CoV-2-Schnelltests mit negativem Ergebnis durchführt. Diese neue Isolationsdauer gilt für alle Personen; unabhängig von ihrem Impfstatus.

Wenn Sie positiv auf COVID-19 getestet wurden: Begeben Sie sich in Selbstisolation und benachrichtigen Sie die Personen, mit denen Sie in den letzten 2 Tagen engen Kontakt hatten. Sie müssen ein anderes Verfahren zum Melden Ihres Ergebnisses befolgen; je nach Testart [Antigenselbsttest (Schnelltest) oder PCR/zertifizierter Antigentest]. Wenn Sie Hochrisikokontakt mit einer COVID-19-positiven Person hatten: a) erhalten Sie 6 Tage nach dem letzten Kontakt mit der positiven Person per E-Mail ein Rezept zur Durchführung eines PCR-Tests b) wenn Sie nicht geimpft oder genesen sind; Sie erhalten auch eine Quarantäneanordnung. Die Quarantäne endet am 7. Tag; sofern am 6. Tag nach dem letzten Kontakt ein PCR-Test durchgeführt wurde; und dass dieser Test negativ ist. Für 7 Tage nach der Quarantäne; erwägen Sie eine Selbstkontrolle und tragen Sie bei Kontakt mit anderen Personen eine Maske c) Sollten Symptome während Ihrer Quarantänezeit oder sogar nach einem negativen Test auftreten; Sie sollten sich sofort testen und sich unverzüglich selbst isolieren. d) Soziale Kontakte weiter reduzieren; Schutzmaßnahmen beachten und; wenn möglich; Arbeiten Sie von zu Hause aus, bis Ihr PCR-Testergebnis negativ ist. e) Wenn Ihr Test positiv ist; Bitte befolgen Sie das oben beschriebene Verfahren; 25.02.2022: Keine Kontaktaufnahme durch das Contact-Tracing-Team, wenn es sich um einen engen Kontakt handelt. Nach dem Kontakt wird empfohlen, für einen Zeitraum von 7 Tagen den Kontakt mit gefährdeten Personen zu vermeiden; ; Tragen Sie während dieser Zeit eine Maske und lassen Sie sich regelmäßig testen. Empfehlung zur Durchführung von Selbsttests für 5 Tage nach dem letzten Kontakt.

Upon arrival in Luxembourg; the persons concerned are placed in strict quarantine for 7 days with the obligation to undergo a second nucleic acid amplification tests of SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA (PCR; TMA or LAMP methods) from the 6th day of quarantine. In the event of refusal to submit to the test on arrival or at the end of the 7-day quarantine period; the quarantine will be extended for a further 7 days; bringing the total duration to 14 days. Those concerned are required to report their presence to the Health Inspection Department (per e-mail: contact-covid@ms.etat.lu or by telephone: 247-65533); which ensures a reinforced monitoring and tracing; 16/12/2021: the measure is extended until January 14 2022.

No quarantine/ self-isolation required.

Entry to Luxembourg is not conditioned to a mandatory quarantine.

Upon arrival in the Grand Duchy, any person who stayed in India are placed in strict quarantine for 7 days with the obligation to undergo a second COVID-19 test from the 6th day of quarantine.

In the event of refusal to submit to the test on arrival or at the end of the 7-day quarantine period, the quarantine will be extended for a further 7 days, bringing the total duration to 14 days.
